Woman found dead after lodging in popular Ondo hotel, lover flees
A woman yet to be fully identified, has been reported dead in a hotel in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government area of Ondo State, after she lodged there with her lover, said to be on the run.
Penpushing reports that sources disclosed that the deceased and her lover, identify as Sodiq Ganiyu, spent the night at the hotel but when hotel workers entered the room on Wednesday afternoon, the woman was found lifeless.
The sources added that the two were seen together earlier in the day, but when staff gained access to the room, the lady was found unresponsive, while the said Ganiyu allegedly fled the scene shortly after the discovery, leaving no immediate clue as to his whereabouts.
Penpushing further reports that a security source, equally confirmed the development, explaining that the corpse of the woman has been deposited at the Ore morgue, while preliminary examinations revealed no external injuries, but a full autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
The Ondo State Police Command Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident on Thursday stating that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
Penpushing alo reports that the hotel, located along the busy Ore–Okitipupa Road and known as a regular stop for travellers and locals, became a scene of distress when workers found the lady lying motionless on the bed.
