Wole Soyinka’s collections inspired me to become author, says 11-year-old, set to launch maiden book

An 11-year-old girl, SilverAbieyuwa Enadeghe has disclosed that the books collections of the Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka inspired her into venturing into authoring books, as she prepares to launch her first authored book titled, ‘Whispers and Whispers’.

Penpushing reports that the Junior Secondary School (JSS1) student of St Peter Catholic Private College, Olomore, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital made this known in an exclusive interview at the corporate headquarters of Penpushing Media, Leme axis of Moshood Abiola way of the town.

The young author accompanied by her father who is a police officer disclosed that she started writing at age four, as a primary school pupil, adding that she is addicted to reading the books of first African Nobel Laureate, which further engineered her passion to become an author.

Penpushing further reports that the budding young Nigerian author who was born in 2013 to police parents explained that she was equally encouraged by one of her primary school teachers, Miss Soleye, at Amen International Nursery and Primary School, in Abeokuta.

‘I started writing in primary three as a pupil of Amen International Primary School, in Abeokuta. I became addicted to Wole Soyinka’s books, and this inspired me, and I became determined to be like him, in the world of book writing. One of my primary school teachers, Miss Soleye also encouraged me’, she stated.

Penpushing also reports that, the young author who just gain admission to secondary school as at the time of this interview explained that she has equally commenced work on other books, aside from the maiden edition being planned to be launched.

‘I am using this opportunity to call on Prof Wole Soyinka, Nigerian government, corporate organisations and other well-meaning individuals, as well as stakeholders in education to support me on this my dream to be fruitful. I am eager to launch the maiden edition, while am also working towards additional publications’, the girl emphasized

Penpushing reports that the girl explained that she began crafting her own stories, with a background spanning Edo and Enugu States, draws upon her rich cultural heritage, adding that when she is not writing, she enjoys reading novels, exploring faith-inspired literature, and cheering for her favourite football teams.

The book, ‘Whispers and Whispers’ is evocative and mysterious, hinting at untold stories, carry secrets, echoing through the ages, in the collection some are whispers of joy, and others whispers of sorrow, where you will find tales that explore the very essence of human nature, where kindness clashes with cruelty, and even the smallest choices can ripple into unexpected consequences.

Penpushing further reports that the book brings unexpected fortune, as seen in ‘The Gift of Luck’, which is in part one of the book under the column, ‘Echoes of Innocence and Whispers of Fate’, but even magic cannot shield us entirely from life’s unpredictable paths
