Water Producers Association inaugurates pioneer executive members in ogun state
The Table Water and Beverages Producers Association of Nigeria (TWABPAN), Ogun State Chapter on Thursday inaugurated pioneer executive members, of the body, held at the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) hall, in Abeokuta, the State Capital.
Penpushing reports that, the well-attended inauguration ceremony by members across the state was conducted by a renowned legal practitioner, Barrister Benjamin Ogunmodede who admitted oath of office for the new executives.
The newly elected officers include: Prince Adeniyi Olukoya(Chairman), Chief Eric Oyebade(Vice Chairman), Comrade Edward Odeleye(General Secretary)m Alhaji Lawson Sobiye(Treasurer),Evang Henry Akinlosotu(Publicity Secretary) and Adetola Soyemi(Financial Secretary)
Penpushing further reports that others are: Oladipupo James (Social Secretary),Olopade Oyeniyi(Assistant General Secretary), Alhaji Adekunle Oladepo(Auditor 1), Abdulmumuni Jimoh(Auditor11) and Talabi Olamide(Chief Whip)
The ceremony was graced by Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, represented by Chief Olabode Mustapha (Osi of Egbaland), Babatunde Akinbiyi(Public Relations Officer, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps), Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji(Founder Penpushing Media),representatives of Commissioners for Health, Commerce and Industry, as well as Environment among others.
Penpushing also reports that, Board of Trustees(BOT) of the association were decorated at the event, and they include: Elder Jimmy Hassan(Chairman), Mrs Victorial Ogini(Matron),Deaconess Olusade Ogunwale, Dr Abiodun Lawal, Chief Eric Oyebade, Elder Dele Ajibola, Alhaji Taiwo Lawal, Comrade Odeleye Edward and Evang Henry Akinlosotu
The new chairman of the association, in his acceptance speech, noted that to be elected with others as pioneer executives of the association was a significant record in his life, explaining that the emergence of the body was borne out of passion for water producers welfare, as well as the desire to develop the water packaging industry to enviable standard in Nigeria
‘To achieve this goals, my colleagues and I are aware that we will be facing some challenges. We have resolved, therefore to work in collaboration with all relevant government agencies and stakeholders to balance health issues and concerns of the public, with the return of investment of entrepreneurs’, he said
‘We as association will ensure that our members give our customers the best, nothing but the best potable water. I am assuring you that the association is in good hands, as all my colleagues in this exco are intelligent and rational adults who are truly committed to the welfare of our members and the growth of our association’, Olukoya said
‘I am convinced that the chief motivation of each of them is to provide, through proper actions, leadership and required to propel our association to greater heights, promote the welfare of members and their businesses’, he emphasized
Penpushing reports that, the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) in his own remarks, explained that immediately after the registration of the association, it swung into action and drew a fantastic plan to alleviate sufferings and ensure the welfare and progress of members and for proper coordination, monitoring and assurance of production standards and quality of products
The Board Chairman disclosed that, currently, the association has inaugurated eight zones comprising: Egba, Ifo, Ijebu, Ilaro, Mowe/Ibafo, Ogijo, Ota and Remo, adding that in same vein, the body has put in place Council of Zonal Chairmen to meet regularly on best way to move the association forward.
‘We have enacted a constitution to guide the operations of the association and I advise the new executives being inaugurated today to let this constitution guide all their activities. Nothing should be done contrary to the laid down rules of the constitution’, Hassan emphasized
