Wanted cult group leader arrested at robbery scene

An alleged notorious Eiye confraternity leader Akibu Tulare who has been on the wanted list of the Ogun State Police Command has been arrested at a robbery scene where he was said to be  an active gang member

Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer Abimbola Oyeyemi made this known on Tuesday in a statement adding that the policemen attached to Ogijo division arrested the 26 year old suspect  on Saturday 24th of October 2020 following a distress call received at about 9:30 pm that a group of armed robbers were operating between Gbaga and Kamalu area of Ogijo robbing people of thier belongings at gun point.

“On receiving the information, the DPO Ogijo division, Csp Muhammed Suleiman Baba quickly led his men to the scene with some members of vigilante group where the suspect was arrested while other members of his group who he claimed they came from Ikorodu and Owutu area of Lagos State escaped”, he said.

Penpushing further reports that, Oyeyemi said some of the victims have identified the suspect as one of those that robbed them of their properties including  phones and cash, adding that recovered from the suspect is a locally made double barrel short gun.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun has directed the immediate transfer of the suspect to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence department for discreet investigation, and  equally directs that the escaped members of the gang must be hunted for and be apprehended in order to put permanent end to the gang operation
