VIGILANTE SERVICE ARRESTS TWO TRANS- BORDER ARMED ROBBERS
He said the car was stolen at Ajah, Lagos State on February 14, 2019, adding that after thorough investigation, the Idiroko Command of the Outfit saddled with the responsibility being a Command that bordered with the Republic of Benin sprang into action immediately.
‘On Tuesday 26th February 2019, the VSO Team led by Idiroko Commander, SV. Yusuf Aliu with information gathered through the intelligence operatives of the outfit moved to where intelligence reveals that the suspected robbers choose as their place of hibernation in Idiroko and got arrested the culprits that involved in the car theft at about 18:15hrs’,the statement said.
The service spokesman said, during preliminary investigation two suspects Akorede Surajudeen (30) of Tejuola Street, Owode Yewa and Abiodun Adelakun (29) of Iga-Iresi, Owode Yewa were arrested,adding that they confessed their roles in the robbery.
Penpushing also reports that, Yusuf said, the principal suspect, Abiodun Adelakun further confessed that the stolen jeep has been sold to one Bode in the Republic of Benin for 2,500,000.00 cefa while he only collected the deposit sum of 1,400,000.00 cefa.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this reports, the service said it has transferred the suspects to the, Idiroko Division of the Nigeria Police for further investigation and likely prosecution.
