VICE PRESIDENT OSINBAJO TO DELIVER LECTURE AT 70TH COUNTRY CLUB ANNIVERSARY
The President said, the theme of the celebration is ‘Something for Everybody’, adding that preparation for the celebration started February, with assurance that the anniversary which he described as milestone is going to be memorable.
Penpushing further reports that, Akande disclosed that, part of the programmes for the ceremony is a cultural day and Life members night scheduled for July, 21, while the anniversary lecture will take place on July 30th
The Club boss explained that the cultural day is aimed to showcase cultural diversity across the country, and also to further project the club, adding that the membership list as at today is 14,000, pointing out that the club is a generation to generation.
Penpushing reports that, Akande also disclosed that, the grand finale of the ceremony is to hold on August 2, with President Muhammed Buhari as the Special Guest of Honour, who will lead other prominent personalities to the ceremony.
The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo in his remark commended the Club, for its role in social life and contributions on social responsibility to the society, adding that, the existence of the club of 70 years was an indication that, it’s a club of recognition.
Penpushing reports that, the monarch showered blessings on the club and the leadership, encouraging them to continue in the spirit of bringing joy into the hearts and faces of many people, with the provision of recreational activities which kill stress and depression.
The Traditional Ruler, who is the Vice Patron of the Club, said he was proud to be associated with the club, and declared that, a chieftaincy title will be conferred on the President of the Club during his next coronation.
