Veteran actor, Jimi Solanke for burial Friday
The legendary actor and playwright, Jimi Solanke who passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the age of 81 will be laid to rest on Friday, April 5, at a private cemetery in his hometown of Ipara-Remo, Ogun State.
Penpushing reports that the family explained that the burial arrangements commenced with a Choral Concert at Ibudo Asa, Ipara Remo on Monday, April 1, 2024 alongside events like; night of tribute at Freedom Park, Lagos, candlelight precession at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, Osun State, candlelight precession at Ipara-Remo, Ogun State.
The funeral services for the late multifaceted artist known for his achievements in music, dance, playwriting, acting, visual arts, and poetry will take place at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Ipara-Remo, Ogun State.
Penpushing further reports that Solanke week long burial activities will include designated days from April 1-3 for various groups, associations and professional bodies to celebrate him, while Christian Wake will be held on April 4 at Methodist Church Nigeria, Ipara-Remo, Ogun State.
The family disclosed that on Saturday, April 6, 2024, there will be cultural and masquerade displays among other programmes, adding that the burial activities will come to an end on April 7, 2024, with a thanksgiving service
