United Nations to engage female governorship candidates ahead of 2023 elections in Nigeria
The United Nations (UN) Women in conjunction with Government of Canada and WFM radio station would on Monday host the 25 female Governorship Candidates participating in the forthcoming 2023 general elections in Nigeria.
Penpushing reports that, parley which will also include the media is scheduled to hold at The Well Carton Hotel, in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory( FCT).
The parley is part of ongoing engagement of all female candidates to bring them into relevance and prominence ahead of the much awaited polls, as being organized by United Nations (UN) in collaboration with the WFM radio station, and funded by the Government of Canada
Penpushing further reports that, it is recalled that the three organizations bad earlier organized a parley on Monday, December 5,2022 to bring together female candidates with female journalists in Borno state to forge a synergy in forging gender inclusivity in political governance in Nigeria
The gathering was a follow up to a resolution reached at a parley of media executives earlier held in Lagos State,while it is also on record that the
workshop which was the first engagement took place at Amada International Hotel, Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital with sixteen female political reporters as participants
Penpushing also reports that, the engagement is jointly funded by United Nations (UN) and Canadian Government, as well as Women Advocacy Documentation Centre (WARDC) as joint organiser.
