United Nations tasks Nigerian government in bringing killers of congregants to justice
The United Nations (UN) has tasked the Nigerian government on need to exhibit proactive measures and efforts in bringing the perpetrators of the killings at St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, to justice.
Penpushing reports that the Secretary-General of the world body in a statement by his spokesman, Stéphane Dujarric condemned in the strongest terms the heinous attack leading to death of many, as well as others sustaining vary degree of injuries.
The Secretary-General in the statement made available to Penpushing media on Tuesday emphasized that attacks on places of worship are abhorrent, and urged the Nigerian authorities to spare no effort in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Penpushing further reports that, the United Nations(UN) extends heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured, as well as expressing sympathies to, and solidarity with, the Government and people of Nigeria.
