UNITED NATIONS, PENPUSHING MEDIA PLAN CONFERENCE AGAINST HATE SPEECH
The conference which is scheduled to hold on October 24 on the World Development Information Day, will involve number of journalists and other stakeholders in the media industry, and will take place at the Lagos Headquarters of the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC).
Penpushing further reports that, the conference is also supported by Metropolitan Broadcasting Service (MBS), owner of the Impact Business Radio and Impact African Television (IATV), a notable media partner with Penpushing.
The Country Director of United Nations Information Centre(UNIC), Ronald Kayanja in his speech noted that hate speech is largely propagated on the social media, adding that, the conference has the agenda to fashion out how this will be put to a close check,
Penpushing also reports that, Kayanja acknowledged the professionalism of Penpushing Media and the Centre found it worthy to partner with the organization, in fighting the menace of fake news, through social media, which is almost becoming norms in the society
