Two million Nigerian Polytechnic students to benefit from affordable housing scheme

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has disclosed that about two million polytechnic students across Nigeria would benefit from the association housing scheme at affordable rate.

Penpushing reports that the National President of the association,Olalere Benedict made this known at a press conference tagged, “Introduction of Nigeria Polytechnic Students Housing Investments Scheme in all the 36 States of the Federation including Abuja”,held in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.

The President said in view of this, the association is in partnership with Domark Group Limited, adding that  the housing scheme  is strictly meant for Polytechnics students, Monotechnics, and other allied National Diploma (ND) and Ordinary National Diploma (OND) awarding institutions.

Penpushing further reports that, Benedict noted that the association wants students to invest in real estate which he described as one of the major contributors to the national development, pointing out that there are over 20 million Polytechnic students across the country.

The students leaded disclosed that, 36 out of the 100 Polytechnics in Nigeria have already subscribed to the housing scheme, explaining that the scheme was borne out of passion to secured a better future for the polytechnic students in Nigeria

“The Leadership of NAPS in partnership with Domak Group Limited comes up with a better idea for the entire polytechnic students in Nigeria that will gives every students access to land property in the state of their choice across the 36 States and FCT.”

“In the pursuit for better opportunity for the polytechnic students, the leadership of NAPS come up with the idea of the housing scheme which will allowed students to invest in real estate by buying a plot of land  with their daily, weekly or monthly contributions.”

“We have negotiated with Domark Group Limited to gives opportunity to students so as to have a landed property by allowing soft payment  such as daily contribution of N350, N2,450 weekly and N9,800 monthly’.

Penpushing also reports that, he pointed out that considering the financial muscle of the students, Domark Group Limited had acquired thousands of hectares of land for the students, adding that the Housing Investment Scheme is first of it kind in Sub Sahara Africa, in Nigeria and in the students movement.

The President maintained that the project is aimed at curbing social vices among students and to correct impression of how their future will look like after graduation, saying that student can secure their future while they are still in school.

“Every arrangement has been sealed, the site has been inspected and the mode of payment and registration is online, at the first subscription, you are entitled to Allocation Certificate and at the completion of the subscription within two years, you will be giving all your land documents.”
