Two killed in boxing day crash on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

Two persons were killed and six others sustaining various degree of injuries in a boxing day crash involving a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number ACA607XT around Car park C -Turning on Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Penpushing reports that the Chief Route Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe confirmed this sad news on Tuesday in a statement, adding that suspected cause of the lone crash was excessive speed which led to lose of control and the vehicle crashed on the road barrier.

‘The crash occurred at the early hours of today Tuesday 26 Dec 2023 at about 0221 hrs around CAR PARK C TURNING on Lagos-Ibadan expressway. A total of 08 persons were involved all male adult,  06 were injured and 02  persons were recorded death’, she said .

Penpushing further reports that the Command Public Education Officer disclosed in the statement that the injured victims were taken to Farmobis Hospital Mowe and the corpses deposited at the same Hospital morgue

The statement added that the Sector Commander Anthony Uga is pained over this attitude from drivers refusing to obey simple traffic roles especially that of speed which has been the curse of fatal crashes on Lagos-Ibadan expressway, and advised motorists to go with the stipulated speed limit and drive to stay alive
