Two dead, 8 injured on Ondo-Benin Expressway road crash, manifest shows identity of victims
Two Lagos-Akure bound passengers were on Sunday killed and eight others sustaining various degrees of injuries in a road traffic accident at Olorunpodo axis of Ondo-Benin Expressway located in Ijebu-East Local Government Area of Ogun State
Penpushing reports that the accident involved 15 passengers carrying commercial Hiace Toyota bus with registration number RRU 295 XA following burst tyre which made the driver to lost control and the swerved off the road into the bush, but five of the passengers were lucky escaping without injury
The manifest of the passengers was part of items recovered at the scene, as well as some personal effects of the victims, while
the accidented vehicle involved in the accident has been deposited at the Motor Traffic Division, Ogbere, for further investigation by the Police.
Penpushing further reports that the Public Relations Officer of Ogun State Traffic Management, Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed the incident and commiserated with the family of the deceased, as well as urging drivers again to desist from excessive speed, avoid Tokunbo tyres and ensure that all vehicle components are in right shape before embarking on any trip
