TONY ANENIH ‘MR FIX IT’ IS DEAD, AS GBENGA DANIEL MOURNS
Penpushing also recalled that Anenih was also the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 1993 under whose platform Moshood Abiola won the June 12, 1993 Presidential election.
However, former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has mourned the deceased who was former Chairman, Board of Trustees of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) describing him as one Nigeria’s foremost politicians whose death ended a great chapter in the nation’s political history.
Penpushing reports that, Daniel in his condolence message issued by his Media Aide, Ayo Giwa, on the death of the elder statesman stated that Chief Anenih was a hugely endowed political leader and foremost nationalist who served the country in various capacities during his lifetime.
“As one of the founding fathers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Anenih was among those who sustained the nation’s fledging democracy by his immense contributions in the process that laid a solid foundation for democratic ideals and political ethics in modern politics,” Daniel said.
He stressed that following the demise, the country has lost an illustrious son and colourful politician whose administrative prowess and political sagacity remain a benchmark and history will report him positively for his exemplary roles and great ideas in nation building.
Penpushing also reports that in similar vein, President Muhammed Buhari has commiserated with the family of the deceased as well as the Edo State Government and Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) over the death.
The President in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina said,’as a frontline figure in the annals of our country’s political history, the President attests that Chief Anenih live a life of service, as State Chairman of the National Party of Nigeria(NPN), National Chairman of Social Democratic Party(SDP),Chieftain of the PDP,and former Minister of Works’
The President also affirmed that across the political spectrum of Nigeria, Chief Anenih was known for his strong views on issues pertaining to unity and stability of the nation
