Toddler dies in road crash along Abeokuta-Lagos expressway
A toddler with one other person were killed, as well as seven others sustaining various degree of injury on Saturday in a road accident which occurred at Gudugba-Ewekoro road along Abeokuta-Lagos dual carriage road.
Penpushing reports that, the Public Relations Officer of Ogun State Road Traffic Compliance Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi who confirmed the crash said it involved a brown Ford with registration number AAAB 439 XB, Toyota Sienna KRD 900GV and Yellow Tricycle with registration number AKM 791 VP
The agency spokesman said an eyewitness account has it that, the crash was caused by over-speeding and loss of control on the part of Toyota Sienna driver, adding that 10 occupants were involved which include: five females and five males, among them a minor.
Penpushing further reports that, the passengers vehicle was inbound Abeokuta when the accident occurred at the vicinity located in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State, adding that the road officials thereafter moved to the scene to evacuate the victims.
The Public Relations Officer of the agency said as at the time of filing this report, the injured persons have been taken to General Hospital Ifo by good Samaritans, while the dead deposited in a morgue in Ifo town
