Tinubu submits fresh list of 19 ministerial nominees to senate
The Nigeria’s President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has forwarded a fresh list of 19 ministerial nominees to the Senate for confirmation, and this is in addition to the earlier 28 nominees forwarded to the upper chambers of National Assembly.
Penpushing reports that the Wednesday list contained former Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola; former Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu; former Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle; former Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Geidam; former Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong; a former senator from Bayelsa State, Heineken Lokpobiri and Shuiabu Abubakar Audu, son of a former Kogi State Governor, Abubakar Audu.
The other former senators are on the new list which include Sabi Abdullahi from Niger State, Alkali Ahmed Saidu from Gombe State and Heineken Lokpobori from Bayelsa State, as well as Zephaniah Jisalo, a former chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), who is and indigene of Abuja.
Penpushing further reports that the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, on Wednesday announced the names at the plenary shortly after the conclusion of the screening of the 28 ministerial nominees.
The Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, delivered the list to the Senate President while the Senate was in the Committee of the Whole, considering the remaining six ministerial nominees, and with the new list, the number of nominees is now 47.
Penpushing also reports that the Senate President, however, as at the time of this report disclosed that the screening committee would reconvene on Friday to commence the screening of the new ministers-designate.
The other nominees are Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, Bosun Tijani, Dr Maryam Shetty, Isiaka Salako, Tunji Alausa, Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu, Lola Ade John, Prof Tahir Mamman, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, Senator Alkali Ahmed Saidu, Senator Heineken Lokpobori and Uba Maigari Ahmadu
