Nigerian government approves provisional licenses for 11 private universities

The Nigeria’s President Tinubu has approved provisional licenses for 11 private universities in the country, explaining that his administration is committed to expanding the frontiers of educational opportunities and infrastructure.

Penpushing reports that the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, made this known in a statement on Monday, stating that the President granted the approvals during the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

The statement disclosed the universities as include New City University, Ayetoro Ogun State, University of Fortune, Igbotako, Ondo State, Eranova University, Mabushi and Minaret University, Ikirun, Osun Annex.

Penpushing reports that others are Abubakar Toyin University, Oke-Agba, Kwara State, Southern Atlantic University Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Lens University, ilemona, Kwara State, Monarch University, Iyesi-Ota, Ogun State, Tonnie Iredia University of Communication, Benin City, Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management, Lagos and Kevin Eze University, Mgbowo, Enugu State

Meanwhile, record has it that before the approvals for the eleven universities Nigeria is currently operating 148 private universities located across some parts of the country, with bulk located in South-West.
