Throwback on African Children Voices: A Child’s Right Non-Governmental Organization

African Children Voices was established on November. 19, 2000 to uphold the vanguard for virtues on the rights of the child. The Child’s Rights Organization started with a vision for the children of the world that every one of them without exception lives a full and healthy life with rights secured and protected, freed from poverty, violence and discrimination in accordance with United Nation’s Declaration on the rights of the child.
The organization collaborates with Ogun State Ministry of Information and Orientation, Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) , Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) Ogun State Chapter, International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Action Aid Nigeria, Human Development Initiatives (HDI) in collaboration with Child Helpline International Netherlands, NACA, UNAIDS, UNIFEM e.t.c.
African Children Voices has trained over 4,000 children who have become great achievers in different fields of endeavors across the world. The organization gave birth to two popular T.V. programs, Children’s Court and African Child which were broadcast both on local and international TV stations. A short film ‘Story of a Nation’ written by the founder, was performed by African Children Voices with the support of UNICEF and NTA.
African Children Voices represented Ogun State at the Global Movement for Children held in Ibadan, a member of African Children Voices; Ifeoluwa Adeniyi represented Nigeria at the 4th Young General Assembly in Biai Mare, Romania and many other workshops to mention a few.
The organization was part of the child’s rights act achievement in Ogun State with the former Speaker of Ogun State House of Aassembly, Hon. Titi Oseni and other committee members.
