Three Non-Governmental Organisations collaborate to empower survivors of gender-based violence
The Gender Development Initiative (GENDI) in collaboration with Women Advocates Research and Documentation (WARDC) and Above Whispers on Friday empowered four survivors of gender-based violence.
Penpushing reports that the Non-Governmental Organisations(NGO’s) at the event with the theme, ’Fostering Financial Independence and Violent-Free Future for Women and Girls’, gave the beneficiaries financial and logistical support for resilience and organizational strengthening.
The Executive Director of Gender Development Initiative (GENDI), Prof Bunmi Ashimolowo in her welcome speech at the organisation’s office venue of the event located at Ewang Estate,Abeokuta explained that the programme was aimed to empower four survivors of gender-based violence.
Penpushing further reports that she added that the prgramme will in the same vein, address Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and equally strengthened organizational capacity to continue championing the rights and well being of women and girls

Penpushing also reports that she gave identities of the beneficiaries as include, Victoria Olaleye, Iybode Shoneye, Ayomide Nosiru and Ronke Balogun, stressing that the programme underscores the power of partnerships and community engagement in driving change
‘By empowering four survivors financially and providing logistical support for GBV cases, we take another step toward restoring hope, dignity and independence to these brave women’, Ashimolowo stated.
‘Beyond this, the resources allocated for organizational strengthening will ensure that GenDi and our partners continue to respond effectively to GBV and other challenges faced by women and girls’, she added
