THREE KILLED AS VEHICLE PLUNGES INTO RIVER ALONG SAGAMU-IJEBU-ODE EXPRESSWAY

The spokesperson of Federal Road Safety Commission,FRSC, Ogun Command, Florence Okpe confirmed this in a statement, corpses of the three passengers had been deposited at State Hospital, Ijebu-Ode, as well as other victims receiving treatment same hospital.

Penpushing further reports tha, Okpe said,”At about 1032HRS on the Ijebu Ode – Sagamu Expressway a commercial bus plunged into the  Ososa River. A total of 14 people comprising(5male adult and 9Female adult ) were involved in the fatal crash”,she said

“The people  injured were 11 (5 male and  6 female) A total of  3 people died in the crash made up of  01 Male and  02Female .The lone crash involved a  yellow coloured MAZDA E220 commercial bus”,Okpe added

“The suspected cause of the crash is mechanical deficiency with the bus that took off from Ijebu Ode Motor park for Lagos , but lost control and plugged into the Ososa River in Ijebu Ode .The injured  victims were rescued to the General Hospital Ijebu Ode, and the corpses of the dead victims were deposited at the same  Ijebu Ode General Hospital Mortuary. 

Penpushing also reports that,the commission spokesperson said efforts are currently on going to remove the Mazda bus from the river, adding that the Sector Commander , Clement Oladele has commiserated with the families of the crash victims and advised vehicle operators to put their Vehicles in good condition before any trip and be cautious during the rainy season to avoid road traffic crashes
