
Three female undergraduates arrested for assaulting, stripping their friend
The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested and paraded three out of four suspects linked to the assault of a teenager, Nancy Wilfred, showing in a video the suspects slapping, punching the victim and thereafter, stripped her and used a sharp object to cut her hair braids
Penpushing reports that the victim, who is from Imo State, resides in Ughelli, Delta State, and traveled to Bayelsa for her friend’s “signing out” ceremony at the Federal University Otuoke, where she was assaulted on August 29, 2025.
The victim in Facebook video, said she had stayed behind with her friend at Edepie School Road in Yenagoa, explaining that “a little quarrel” between her and her friend led to her assault, and her friend gang up with three others girls to assault her.

“My friend ganged up with the three other girls, they called me that I should come and pick up my clothes from the drycleaner and that the clothes are ready. Getting to the place, they locked the door and started questioning me’, she narrated
Penpushing further reports that Nancy said the four girls first took away her phone and began to hit her with a hard object, adding that she later filed a petition to the police.
The Bayelsa State Police Command Public Relations Officer Musa Mohammed, while parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Yenagoa, identified the suspects as Kadi Daniel, Miracle, and Becky, all students of the Federal University, Otuoke in Bayelsa.

Penpushing also reports that during the parade one of the suspects, Kadi, admitted her role in the assault, attributing their actions to alcohol and expressed regret about the incident.
“She lied against me, saying I used charms. When I confronted her and she didn’t answer, I slapped her, and she pushed me back. That was how it all started,” Kadi said.
The suspect claimed that the attack escalated beyond what she and her accomplices had planned adding that four people were initially involved in the incident, but one of them, identified as Favour, who allegedly instigated the attack, is on the run.
The police spokesperson, said investigations revealed that the suspects lured the victim to their apartment under pretences, attacked her, stripped her, and recorded the act before sharing it online.
Penpushing reports that the police command said the assault, was linked to allegations that Nancy accused one of the suspects of using charms, locally called Kayamata, to attract men, however, assured that justice would be served and reaffirmed the police’s commitment to arresting the remaining suspect.
The Commissioner of Police Francis Idu, confirmed that the arrested suspects would face charges including conspiracy, indecent assault, grievous harm, attempted kidnapping, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking, stressing that the matter was being treated with utmost seriousness.
