THIRTEEN KILLED ON LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY
The Sector Commander said, people injured in the crash were 10 comprising 4 Male Adults and 6 Female Adults, while those who lost their lives comprises 4 Male Adults, 7 Female Adults and 2 Female Children.
‘The unfortunate incident involved three vehicles comprising a speeding truck heading towards the Lagos axis of the Expressway but suddenly suffered a tyre burst and in the process collided head on with two other speeding commuter buses heading towards the Ibadan axis of the Expressway, with one of them in the process attempting to wrongfully overtake within the diversion area’,Oladele explained.
Penpushing further reports that, Oladele said, the details of the vehicles are , KTU93XW a yellow coloured Mazda bus, while the second vehicle is a white Toyota Bus with registration number KEY847XA and the third Vehicle with registration number KAB97XA is a MAN Diesel Truck.
The Sector Commander, however, requested relations of the crash victims to contact the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Command in Ogere Ogun State or the Victory Hospital Ogere, where the crashed victims were rescued, for medical treatment.
Penpushing also reports that, he said the corpses of the victims killed at the crash have been deposited at the Ipara Mortuary. Ogun State and the obstruction being cleared with the aid of RCC, the construction company supporting rescue operations with their heavy duty equipment, to restore traffic
The Sector Commander has again reiterated that this incident would have been avoided where motorists driving along diversion areas at construction zones, observe maximum speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour and avoid overtaking till clearly out of diversion areas to avoid head on collision .
