Taliban fighters take over Afghanistan, as President flees country’s capital, Kabul
The Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani has fled the country alongside thousands of Afghans and foreigners following invasion of Kabul, capital of the country by the Talibans, an indication that the government has collapsed.
Penpushing reports that, the Talibans entered the presidential palace without resistance after the embattled President of the war-torn country had fled, while sources said the fleeing President is bound for Tajikistan.
The Taliban fighters were reported to have been capturing number of cities in Afghanistan since the America government started pulling its troops from the country, and it was also gathered that within two weeks, the fighters have encircled Kabul after capturing 26 of the country’s 34 provincial capitals.
Penpushing also reports President Joe Biden of United States of America(USA) reacting to the development declared that he would not reverse his stance, as he authorized deployment of 5,000 American troops for an orderly and safe drawdown” of his country’s personnel.
The President warned the Taliban fighters that any action on their part on the ground in Afghanistan, that puts American personnel at risk there, will be met with a swift and strong America military response.”
Penpushing reports that, in his remarks Zabiullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesperson disclosed that their fighters have been ordered to prevent looting in the city and allow safe passage for anyone wanting to leave.

Penpushing further reports that, on Sunday, a senior official close to the embattled Afghanistan President,was quoted saying that a negotiators representing the national government were headed to Doha, Qatar, to discuss an agreement with the Taliban’s political leadership,
The Acting Interior Minister, Abdul Satar Mirzakwal was also quoted saying that there is an agreement that there will be a transitional administration for orderly transfer of power,adding that security forces were being deployed across Kabul to ensure order.
