Suspected thugs strip former Governor’s cousin naked

The cousin of former Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Don Pedro Obaseki, who is Chief Executive Officer of Hosamudia Farm, has been stripped naked by suspected thugs in Uwa Primary School, Benin city.

Penpushing reports that the victim had gone to play football when the incident happened as seen in a video circulating on the internet on Sunday, and seen being attacked by the suspected thugs.

The victim was Obaseki, was reportedly taken to the palace and made to kneel at the gate of the Oba’s Palace, while the suspected thugs reportedly told palace guards that they had brought

Penpushing further reports that some palace chiefs, who addressed the suspected thugs in the Bini language, said the traditional ruler was on his way to the Holy Arousa Cathedral for a thanksgiving service to mark the end of the Igue festival.

“Today is Thanksgiving Day at the Holy Arousa. We don’t want any trouble. If there is anybody that counts himself as an enemy of the Oba, allow him and see how he will end up’, one of the chiefs said

Penpushing also reports that the chiefs thereafter took Obaseki inside the palace, despite protests from the suspected thugs, while as at the time of filing this report, the reasons for the attack was unknown
