SURVEYOR PROFESSION IS A BEDROCK TO NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT – AJIBIKE
Hear him, “before any building can be built, someone needs to have the picture of the land on paper to know the dimensions and topography of the building and for engineers and other professionals to work on it. Surveyor is the bedrock of other professions, which they rely on for their foundation laying and their professional practices.
“The seminar is a yearly activities of the Vanguard to gear up the surveyors to be more mindful of what they give to the public so as to serve them better. The choice of the theme of the seminar is to gain from wealth of experience and knowledge of our well-resourced fathers in the profession, the seminar will go a long way to widen the horizon and understanding of the participants on ethical practice”, he said
“There is a need for our members to know the right thing to do for the public, because importance of surveyor cannot be over emphasized, Surveyor has to be contacted before a anything can be done on a land for any meaningful development’.

Penpushing further reports that, Ajibike pointed out that a communiqué will be issued at the end of the seminar to Government Agencies and Ministries in order to do the needful to curb the issue of quacks in survey profession’.
The Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Surveyor in Oyo State, Surveyor. Aderemi Kobiowu in his remarks noted that the theme of the seminar will help to enlightened members more on how to relate with other members of the public and at the same time, the professional integrity required in dealing with other professionals colleagues.
Penpushing also reports that, he maintained that surveyor Vanguard is an organized pressure group of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyor comprising only surveyor, and it has branches all over the South-West states of Nigeria and the aims of the group is to see to the development and wellbeing of members and to also determine the political landscape of the profession both at State and National levels.
The Chairman of the occasion, Surveyor Rufus Akeredolu said that the seminar is for the surveyors to think of the precision and accuracy whenever they are practicing so as to meet the goal, ethics and legal aspect of the noble profession.
“Surveyor is the bedrock of other technological developments because surveyor must have work on a land before any work can be done on it, surveyor gives size and precise position of a particular place before anybody could work on the land.”
Penpushing also reports that the Assistant Registrar of the Surveyor Council of Nigeria, Kunle Olugbemiro noted that the Surveyor Vanguard has over the years brings together its members in order to bring back what the profession has been lacking.
“Surveyors help in every decision making, the profession is strictly guided by ethics, and it makes people to know what they have and what they should know”, he stated
