Stop airing my comments on coronavirus for now, Dokpesi tells Daar communications management
The founder of Daar Communications, owner of Raypower F.M radio station and African Independent Television (AIT), Chief Raymond Dokpesi has ordered the management of the stations to stop airing his(Dokpesi) comments on coronavirus after his return from isolation centre.
Penpushing reports that, Dokpesi in his comments expressed doubt over the existence of the ravaging coronavirus, stressing that treatment he received throughout his stay in isolation was related to malaria ailment, a position regarded as aspersion on the government in its bid to contain the virus.
The Chairman of the organisations, in an internal memo dated May 17, 2020 and addressed to all Heads of Department, titled, Re: Experience of the Dokpesi at the Gwagwalada Isolation Centre”, directed the stations to henceforth discontinue the news in their bulletins, and also pull down from their websites.
‘I write to kindly request you to discontinue referencing the comments and views expressed by both the founder-High Chief Engr, Raymond.A.A.Dokpesi,OFR& the Chairman-Chief Raymond Paul Dokpesi jnr in all your news bulletins and infact bring them down from your official websites for now’, he wrote.
Penpushing further reports that, Dokpesi said he gave the order , following senior citizens and elders argument and agreement with him that, he should have addressed a private letter to the Presidential Task Force and the Presidency rather than cast aspersion on their methods, which thereby caused doubt in the minds of the public
‘Very senior citizens&elders have argued and agree with them that I should have addressed a private letter to the PTF& the presidency rather than cast aspersions on their methods thereby creating doubts in the minds of the public’, he said.
‘I also agreed to an immediate truce. We must never be construed to be using the ownership of the platform to promoting our personal agenda or settling some scores with perceived opponents’, Dokpesi added.
‘I thank you all for your support and loyalty but like gallant soldiers let us leave this fight for another day, kindly keep all the original footages. I urge you all to pass this message to all your staff. Kindly accept the assurances of my highest esteem and regards’, he emphasised
