SOWORE IN TOUCH WITH FOREIGN ACTORS TO DESTABILISE NIGERIA, SAYS SECURITY SERVICE
The State Security Service (SSS),however, declined to established where Sowore was being kept as well as when he would be arraigned in court, while the authorities was unable to say whether or not it has any credible intelligence that confirmed Sowore has the capacity to execute a takeover of Government in Nigeria.
Penpushing further reports that, the briefing by the State Security Service (SSS) marked the first time the authorities will be speaking on the arrest of Sowore, while the police have issued a warning against the planned protest.
The Inspector General of Police,Muhammed Adamu in a statement gave warning notice to Nigerians and any individuals who intend to participate in what is called ‘RevolutionNow’ protest being organized by Omoyele Sowore and other Nigerian rights activists against August 5 to stay clear from it, or risk a felony and terrorism charge.
Penpushing also reports that Sowore and other organisers of ‘RevolutionNow’ movement have condemned federal authorities for lying against them that the protest, scheduled to begin on August 5, would be violent, and vowed to carry on with the demonstration across 21 Nigerian cities despite the arrest of its leader.
