SOKOTO VARSITY MATRICULATES 4,950 FOR 2018/19 ACADEMIC SESSION
The Vice Chancellor added that, analysis of the distribution of students to faculties reveals that 71.80% are Science based while 28.20% are Art and Humanity based students, adding that priority has been given to the science based programmes in compliance with the Federal Government directive on Science to Humanity Students ratio of 60:40.
Penpushing further reports that, Zuru stated that, the university was responsing to the desire of the country for rapid development through advances in Science and Technology.He charged the matriculating students to always remember that hopes of their families, communities and the country are vested in their successful completion of the programme matriculated for.
“As you begin an exciting phase of your life please always remember that the hopes of your family, your communities and our dear country are vested in your successful completion of the programme for which you are being matriculated today”, he emphasised.
Penpushing also reports that, the Vice-Chancellor enjoined the new students to carefully read the students Handbook which will serves as an important guide for their memorable stay in the University as well being extra vigilant and security conscious; and report any suspicious movement, persons and groups to the appropriate organs of the University.
