Social Democratic Party Presidential Candidate meets Obasanjo

The Presidential Candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adebayo Adewole has visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo and engaged him in a closed-door meeting, as the 2023 general elections is fast approaching.

Penpushing reports that Adewole accompanied by Governorship Candidate of the party in Ogun State, Engr Anthony Ojeshina were at the penthouse private residence of Obasanjo at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Abeokuta, explaining that the visit was obligatory as no stakeholders in the country can do without the former President.

The Presidential Candidate speaking with journalists after the meeting said Obasanjo is full of wealth of experience and wisdom, adding that his discussions with him was about making the party more stronger and how to proffered solution to the Nigeria problems.

“Issues that Baba is talking about is our issues. Baba has known almost all of us for a long time. It is more of a family visit, is not much of a political nature. Any where you found Obasanjo, you can’t do without about Nigeria after how are you doing sir,Adewole said

“Our discussion with him is basically about to make our party more stronger and we are at right direction. Baba is on the view that, the solution to Nigeria problem will not come from the old parties, will come from the new parties. He said we should do our best, wish us well and he will give us assistance as give to any other person both in Nigeria and outside”, he stated

“Our purpose is to come to Ogun state to do rally for our party, to see the traditional rulers and we can’t come here without seeing Baba Obasanjo. We always gain from him because we learn a lot about governance, about how Baba is still working hard and we are more encouraged that we are on the right path”

Penpushing further reports that on endorsement of Presidential Candidate of Labour Party(LP), Peter Obi by former President, Adewole posited that he(Obasanjo) has right to endorse any candidate of his choice, adding that he was in Ogun State to rally support for Social Democratic Party(SDP)

“About the endorsement of Peter Obi by Obasanjo, Baba is also a Nigerian, a free person who has the right to  his mind. The election is still far. The essence of democracy is getting people to change their minds and it is a continuous exercise,” he added.
