Smoke still emanates from home of assassinated couple 24-hours after incident

The residence of couple murdered by suspected arsonists in Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ibara in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital on new year day is still oozing out thick smoke, even 24-hours after the fire was reported put off.

Penpushing reports a check on Monday to the badly burnt building with crack on the wall, as a result of impact of the fire showed smoke emanating from the house, while two vehicles were also sighted in the premises as at the time of filing this report.
The front black colur gate of the magnificent building was equally noticed padlocked, while observation also showed that number  of household equipment and personal effects of the deceased occupants had been consumed by the inferno
Penpushing further reports that findings showed that the smoke which was an indication that the fire may still rear its ugly head couple with harmattan period is also considered as a risk to the entire building and neighbouring houses in the area

The  Ogun State Police Command, Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a similar development said the police have arrested a suspect in the gruesome murder of the couple adding that an investigation was ongoing to unravel the killers and their motive, affirming that it was a case of suspected assassination.

“The incident happened after 12 in the morning. It is true that a couple was killed and set ablaze at their residence in Abeokuta, shortly after they returned from Cross over Service. This is a clear case of assassination and we are not leaving any stone unturned to unravel those behind the killings. One person has been arrested by our operatives in connection to the incident. We will get to the root of the matter, as investigation has since begun’, Oyeyemi said.
