Six surgeons operate Osinbajo over leg fracture
Six surgeons on Saturday performed a successful operation on Vice President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo who was admitted following fracture of his right femur (thigh bone), linked to a longstanding injury associated with a game of squash.
Penpushing reports that, the operation was performed at the Duchess International Hospital, Lagos, while the medical comprises: Dr. Wallace Ogufere (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon); Dr. Om Lahoti (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon); Dr. Babajide Lawson (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon); Dr. Ken Adegoke (Consultant in Anaesthesia and Critical Care); Dr. Oladimeji Agbabiaka (Consultant Anaesthetist); and Dr Adedoyin Dosunmu-Ogunbi (Consultant Physician and Medical Director).
The management of the hospital issued a statement signed by Medical Director Dr Adedoyin Dosunmu-Ogunbi to announce the successful operation assuring that the Vice President is expected to be discharged within the next few days.
“The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, was admitted to the Duchess International Hospital GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, today on account of a fracture of his right femur (thigh bone), possibly related to a longstanding injury associated with a game of squash’, the statement said.
“He had a surgical operation performed by a team of specialist doctors. The operation was successful, and he is expected to be discharged within the next few days’, the medical director of the hospital disclosed.
