Six persons die in midnight crash on Ore-Ijebu-Ode expressway
A midnight auto crash on Tuesday in Ajede axis along Ore- Ijebu-Ode expressway has claimed six persons, with four others sustaining various degree of injuries
Penpushing reports that, the Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Commission,(FRSC), Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe made this known, adding that the crash occurred at about 1am around Ajede before RCC yard at Ijebu-Ode-Ore expressway involving 39 people which comprises of 25 male adult and 14 female adult.
The corps spokesperson confirmed that 6 persons were recorded dead and they comprises 5 male adult and 1 female adult, adding that the dead bodies have being deposited at Ijebu-Ode General Hospital, as at the time of filing this report, adding that 4 persons were injured (02 male adult and 02 female adult) and were taken to the same Hospital for medical attention.
The Public Education Officer of the Corps said three vehicles were involved in the crash with registration number JJJ862 XV, Mazda bus ,KRD306BJ ,a Toyota Sienna and AGL05XZ a Mercedes Benz ( Luxurious bus)
Penpushing further reports that, Okpe said suspected causes of the multiple crash were wrongful overtaken and excessive speed on the part of the Luxury bus driver which led to loss of control, adding that the truck driver immediately after the crash ran away because all the occupants of the Sienna vehicle lost their lives.
The Sector Commander Ogun State Command Commander Ahmed Umar described the crash as avoidable act and advised the motorists to avoid excessive speed and dangerous driving and also obey traffic rules and regulations, as well as commiserated with the families of the victims of the crash and enjoined them to contact the FRSC Command in Ogbere for details of the crash and reclaim the properties of the victims recovered from the scene of the crash.
