Six members of Christian Association of Nigeria women wing die in road accident

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Taraba State Chapter has lost six of its women wing members in a road accident which occurred in Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, while returning from a conference held in Gembu, the headquarters of Sardauna council, to Jalingo, the state capital.

Penpushing reports that the accident occurred on Sunday afternoon when an 18-seater bus, conveying the Christian women under the umbrella of Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN) crashed.

The Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas in a statement by his Special Adviser Media and Digital Communications, Emmanuel Bello has sent his condolences to the families of the victims, describing the news of their death as heartbreaking and devastating.

Penpushing further reports that the Governor in the statement lamented that the incident had brought a “black Sunday for the state and equally condoled with Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), its women wing and the entire Christian community in the state and Nigeria.

‘The circumstances of their death are regrettably tragic as they were returning from the women’s wing CAN Conference which ended yesterday in Gembu, Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba state’, the statement reads

Penpushing also reports that the Governor while praying for the repose of their souls pledged his administration’s continued commitment to safer roads, especially within areas that posed great threats to life.
