Seven-storey building collapses in Lagos, many trapped

A seven-storey building located at Oba Idowu Oniru street beside Avi Maria hospital in Lagos State collapsed on Sunday with many victims said to have been trapped as at the time of filing this report

Penpushing reports that the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu said the building was under construction, adding that sex people are reported to be trapped under the rubbles.

“Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, an uncompleted seven-storey building undergoing construction was found to have collapsed. Six people are reported to be trapped under the rubbles of the collapsed structure.

Penpushing further reports that, as at the time of filing this report, Oke-Osanyintolu said the agency would need and require heavy-duty equipment excavator for the rescue of the trapped victims, adding that the agency has activated its response plan

“The Agency’s heavy-duty equipment excavator will be required for the rescue of the trapped victims. We have activated Lagos State Response plan. Operation ongoing. Updates to follow’, Oke -Osanyintolu said
