Senator Tolu Odebiyi offers scholarship to Ogun West Senatorial District students

The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Tolu Odebiyi has empowered 53 undergraduate students by offering them scholarship awards under his TOD Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme.

Penpushing reports that, the sum of N100, 000 which was given to each of the 53 Ogun West Students is part of his multi-faceted approach to revamp the education sector in Ogun West, and part of the federal lawmaker continuous efforts to help academically brilliant Ogun West students achieve their goals

The scholarship award ceremony held at the International Conference Centre of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State had parents of the beneficiaries, dignitaries and traditional rulers, party and community leaders in attendance.

Penpushing further reports that, Odebiyi while addressing the gathering explained that the scholarship scheme is structured in a way that will support their education throughout the duration of their studies in school.

The Senator emphasised that it is his firm believe that the scholarship will go a long way in eliminating monetary challenges and other forms of distractions that may inhibit the beneficiaries  quest for quality education”.

“The scholarship scheme is structured in a way that will support your education throughout the duration of your studies in school. It is my firm believe that the scholarship will go a long way in eliminating monetary challenges and other forms of distractions that may inhibit your quest for quality education”, he added.

Penpushing also reports that, Odebiyi who the Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT),in the same vein and in  order to help advance the students knowledge of technology, presented  them with brand new laptops in addition to the scholarship grants.

“To further demonstrate my genuine commitment to the actualisation of your goals and aspirations, and my resolve to mitigate the challenges of access to technological devices that will enhance and advance your knowledge of technology, each of you will be presented with a brand new laptop’, he declared.

‘This is in addition to your scholarship grants. I therefore, enjoin you to deploy the laptops for educational purposes only, and to eschew using them for illegal activities. You all must not engage in acts that are capable of derailing your goals”.

Penpushing reports that, the Senator assured his constituents that he will continue with more vigour, to justify the trust his people have in him and will also not depart from the path which has earned him deep reverence from his people.

The donor while congratulating the beneficiaries reminded them that the gesture is a challenge for them to further excel in their academic pursuits, so that they can contribute to the development of Ogun West Senatorial District, Ogun State and indeed Nigeria in future.

Penpushing further reports that, one of the beneficiaries, Mr Ajibola Olasode, in response expressed appreciation to the donor, noting that the Senator had add valuable contributions towards making academic dreams becoming a reality

“As a recipient of Senator Tolu Odebiyi scholarship award,  I will like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Senator for the invaluable support and contribution towards making our academic dreams a reality’, he said.

‘By awarding me this scholarship, you have reduced my financial burden, which allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of  learning. Your generosity towards humanity has inspired me to also help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me”.

Penpushing also reports that, another beneficiary, Miss Ayinde Grace in her remarks pointed out that the Senator is a great philanthropist and a lover of quality education and profusely expressed appreciation to him

“Senator Tolu Odebiyi is a great philanthropist and lover of men. I really thank God in your life sir, because without Him it’s impossible for you to do this great and  uplifting works you are doing in Ogun West’.

‘Your love for education, youth and human capital, it is extraordinary, I must confess. And it has gone a long way in alleviating the suffering in this area. Most  especially this undergraduate scholarship which has helped my academics a lot. Thank you so much, May God continue to bless you to do greater things”.

Penpushing further reports that, Mr Johnbull Vitowanu who is also a beneficiary  said the gestures showed that the donor understand the principle of responsibilities and prayed that God will continue to elevate him,

“On behalf of the TOD Scholars I will like to extend a very hearty thanks to our Daddy, Senator Tolu Odebiyi for his priceless support to the education of the Ogun West students. He is a father that understands the principle of responsibilities; despite the fact that he has a lot of commitments, he always thinks about our wellbeing. Words cannot express how we feel. God will continue to elevate you in all your doings Sir.”

Penpushing also reports that, another beneficiary, Mr. Bamgbose Abraham Abidemi,in his own comments thanked Odebiyi and his  wife, Mrs. Folasade Odebiyi for their love for the youths of Ogun West.

“It is my privilege to offer thanks on this occasion,- TOD Undergraduate Scholarship Award ceremony today, 14th March, 2021. Senator Odebiyi is an honorable, gallant and ever-dynamic, Distinguished Senator’.
