Saudi Arabia is Nigeria’s benefactor, says Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari has submitted that Saudi Arabia is a benefactor to Nigeria, adding that, with Nigeria’s large population and infrastructural deficit, the country needed all the revenue she could get from oil, a mainstay of the economy from the country.
Penpushing reports that, Buhari stated this while playing host to the Saudi Arabian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al-Saud, at State House, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory(FCT), declaring that the oil rich kingdom has been quite kind to Nigeria.
‘With Nigeria’s large population and infrastructural deficit, the country needed all Saudi Arabia has been very kind to us, making sacrifice by reducing production to accommodate us a number of times”,he stated
Penpushing further reports that, Buhari pointed out that the relationship between the two countries is very strong, and dates back in time, both at the personal and national levels, stressing that it is long and steadfast..
The Saudi Arabian Minister of Foreign Affairs while speaking said he brought greetings from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, adding that the kingdom appreciates the relationship with Nigeria, which he said dates back 61 years, adding that this has to be strengthen it even further
Penpushing also reports that, Faisal Bin Farhan Al-Saud noted that, the two countries, have good prospects both economically and politically, and not just among the leaders, but also the people, emphasizing that there are .still a lot both can do together.
