Troubled Peoples Democratic Party appoints Yemi Akinwonmi as acting national chairman
The troubled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has affirmed its Deputy National Chairman, Elder Yemi Akinwonmi as the Acting National Chairman, after two days of intra-party spat over claim to the leadership
Penpushing reports that, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan made this known on Thursday, after the National Working Committee (NWC) closed door meeting held in in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The Acting Chairman, an Ogun State indigene replaces the controversial national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, who was on Monday ordered by a Rivers State High Court not to parade himself as the national chairman of the party.
.“Elder Yemi Akinwonmi was unanimously affirmed as Acting National Chairman. We will be holding our caucus and another NWC meeting tomorrow preparatory to holding our National Executive Council meeting at 12 ‘O’clock on Saturday,” Ologbondiyan .
Penpushing further reports that, the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) image maker confirmed the reschedule of the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) for Saturday.
