Retired Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu safeguarded peace in ogun state while in office, says Governor Abiodun

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on Monday commended immediate past Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu for demonstrating unrelenting commitment at maintaining law and order, ensuring the safety of the citizens of the state and safeguarding peace in our communities while in office.

Penpushing reports that Abiodun gave the commendation at the pull-out parade of Alamutu from the police force, a ceremony held at Government arcade ground at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, which attracted number of dignitaries within and outside the state.

The Governor represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele celebrating the retired police boss after 32 years of service and 36th Commissioner of Police in Ogun State appreciated Alamutu for his immense dedication to duty.

‘Throughout your career, you have exemplified highest standard of professionalism, integrity and service to the nation. Today’s celebration is   a testament to a life devoted to making our society safer and better for all. Your career in law enforcement has been marked with courage, integrity and upholding the law, while prioritising the life of our people”, he said.

‘As we all know that Ogun state is recognised as one of the states with the fastest growing economy in West Africa, this has a possible impact, due to the security foundation laid by exemplary leaders such as CP Alamutu who used his office to ensure safety of lives and property through collaboration and strategic partnerships”.

‘As the 36 CP in Ogun, he navigated the complexities of modern policing with foresight and diligence, his tenure was marked by equipping officers with training and resources needed to excel, fostering trust between the law enforcement agencies and the public, a bond that is indispensable for a safe and harmonious society”, Abiodun stated.

Penpushing further reports that the Governor pointed out that the pull-out parade was not just about years served, but a life well lived in the service of others, adding that Alamutu’s legacies was filled with vision, humility and dedication, as his efforts has not only strengthened security of Ogun state but has left an indelible mark on the society.

Penpushing also reports that the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun in his remarks described Alamutu as a diligent, dedicated, gallant and hardworking officer who has served the nation meritoriously.

The number one policeman in the country represented by Assistant Inspector General Adegoke Fayoade, emphasis that the retired police commissioner is an exceptional and a dependable officer who has touched countless lives positively.

Penpushing reports that the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, and the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, earlier in their remarks congratulated Alamutu on his retirement.

The traditional rulers pointed out that the pull-out parade signifies a career full of dedication to duties, hard work and outstanding performance, noting that asides the fact that he ensured peace, he also promoted security in the state, adding that his contributions at the United Nations while on mission, cannot be over emphasised.

Penpushing further reports that the monarchs commended Alamutu for his doggedness and zeal in security matters, emphasising that he approached every challenge with integrity and commitment during his tenure as police commissioner in Ogun State which has helped in reducing crimes and promoting peace in the state.

The retired commissioner in his farewell speech explained that his service years has been a journey filled with challenges, triumph and unwavering commitment towards ensuring peace and security, and commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for their steadfast commitment and support to the Police, urging officers that are still in service to always uphold the value of integrity and be more dedicated to duties.
