RESIDENTS OF ABEOKUTA ESCAPES FIRE OUTBREAK
Penpushing during a visit to the scene reports that, the incident caused panic to the residents and passerby with anxiety and fear of possible fire outbreak. Shops were hurriedly closed, while residents temporarily abandoned their homes.
Number of motorists within the axis had to make a detour, as traffic situation became worrisome on the road, which link many other communities which accommodates thousands of residents, which include students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic
However, in a swift response, the team of fire services, police, civil defence corps and traffic agency raced to the scene, to control the panic situation which lasted for about four hours. The driver and the motor boy ran away with the head of the tanker.
As at the time of this report, normalcy has returned to the area, while the tanker had being towed to the traffic agency divisional office located opposite Continental Suites/Hotels in Abeokuta
