Residents’ association renames estate after osoba
The residents of Hilltop of Oke Sari community located in Abeokuta South local government area of Ogun State have renamed the community after former Governor Olusegun Osoba, which is now to be known as Olusegun Osoba Hilltop Estate.
Penpushing that the renaming was announced on Sunday by the Chairman of the residents association, Chief Babatunde Oke at the inauguration of electronic gate of the estate, adding that the residents unanimously approved the new name.
The association boss recalled that Osoba’s administration established the hilltop estate twenty-five years ago, and commended him for the vision, explaining that the residents association came into being in December 2008.
Penpushing further reports that Oke said the certificate of incorporation was approved by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on July 6, 2015, adding that part of the constitution are to bring together all residents and property owners, to cater for security and a conducive atmosphere where members meet, interact and discuss problems and challenges among others.

Penpushing also reports that the chairman disclosed that the constitution of the association is currently undergoing review by the lawyers to effect the change of name, as well as updating the bye laws to align with current realities.
The association chairman expressed appreciation to members of the estate for their immense contributions to its growth since inception, pointing out that he saluted the vision and great foresight which has indeed underscored the serenity as well as peace and tranquility being enjoyed by residents
Penpushing reports that the secretary of the association, Kehinde Onasanya earlier in his speech said the estate has evolved adding that the pace of development was accelerated by the founder, Chief Olusegun Osoba.
The scribe who is the Ogun State Head of Service pointed out that and affirmed that Osoba’s personal financial commitment has impacted positively, thereby making the estate a pride, and the best in South-West of Nigeria.
Penpushing further reports that he described the occasion as epoch making, pointing out the tree sown by the creation of the estate over two decades ago had germinated based on the power of vision, stressing that the estate has been nurtured since creation with the provision of infrastructure which include good road network and drainage system, street lights , water works.
The Head of Service pointed out that Osoba has contributed immensely to the upgrading of infrastructure such as introduction of Estate Parks and Gardens, block walls at the porous points and the financing of Electronic Gate system which has indeed underscored the yearnings for controlled security architecture.
Penpushing also reports that he added that Osoba is an Apostle of due process pointing out the Residents Association was able to secure necessary approvals from government for the various projects as well as sanitising the Estate of land encroachment.
The former Governor in response at the well-attended ceremony appreciated the unanimous decision of the association in renaming the estate after him and thanked them for their doggedness in ensuring serenity of the estate.
Penpushing reports that Osoba who is also a resident of the estate disclosed that CCTV has been mounted on the electronic gate for adequate security measures, adding that this will equally be extended to every part of the estate.
The veteran journalist commended Governor Dapo Abiodun on his administration policy in housing, adding that he meant well to turn around the Government Reservation Area (GRA) Ibara in Abeokuta, contrary to mischief from some quarters.
Penpushing further reports that the notable politician, however, called on citizens of the state to genuinely team up with the Governor in his genuine desire to make the state better, emphasizing that his housing policy remain the best in the history of the state.
The first landlord of the estate Peter Akinola in his own remarks called on residents to adhere strictly to the rules of the estate, stressing that they should all be security conscious and ensure that all visitors coming to the estate gets clearance from host landlords.
Penpushing also reports that the E-Gate Project Consultant, Engr Patrick Ijitimeyin explained that the expectation was concisely communicated from inception, a transformative access control process that is technologically driven.
‘We are delighted to be a technical partner to the vision that made this grand event possible, the inauguration of the smart electronic gate. This occasion is yet another remarkable reality of a noble vision on which Olusegun Osoba Hilltop Estate was birthed’, he said.
Penpushing reports that he explained that the transformative access control project has delivered the following upgrade of the control room with modern tiling, POP ceiling and electrical fittings, as well as electrification of the control room.
The Engineer disclosed that other features include; 2 sets of German designed and manufactured smart vehicle barrier with embedded computer ,2 sets of traffic light set, advanced IP access controller for centralling controlling the access points.
Penpushing further reports that that he added that others are 3.5KVA Smart inverter with 4 supporting batteries capable of 100% powering the system continuously for 60hours, 12th generation HP PC with 17″ LED flat monitor for monitoring and data storing, smart tag readers for automated drive through for registered residents and smart card readers as well as 6 points speed bumps, pedestrian access gate with paved walkway, road marking and traffic furniture, computer furniture and smart security cameras

Penpushing also reports that Ijitimeyin disclosed that the project was executed at cost in excess of N35million with about 60% adding that of that in foreign currency, this is without a doubt a project wrapped in determination.
