Remains of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s father flown to Nigeria from London

The remains of father of Ogun State Governor, Pa Emmanuel Abiodun were on Friday night flown to Nigeria from Manchester in United Kingdom where he breathed his last at 89 years after a brief illness.

Penpushing reports that, Governor Dapo Abiodun made this known on Saturday while receiving various groups, professional bodies and associations which came to paid him a condolence at his private residence in Iperu town of the state.

The bereaved Governor said, the family received the corpse late Friday, adding that he has not found it easy since the news of the death was made known to him, recalling his relationship with the deceased who he said was a loving and caring father.

Penpushing further reports that, Abiodun who expressed appreciation to all those who came to mourn with him disclosed that, the burial arrangements would be made known to the public in due course.

The Governor said, when the sad news was broken to him, he thought he was dreaming, adding that nobody would want his parents to die inspite of any age, but said he was convinced that with the good work his father did before his demise, he is resting in the bossom of God.

Penpushing also reports that, the Governor accompanied by his wife and other family members while receiving the guests and symphatzers, stated that since his father left the world, it has been soothing for him, because he finds it difficult to believe

‘Its been a journey since demise of my father. It has been soothing. Nobody wants his father died. I have no doubt he is resting in the bossom of God. My father has no iota of hatred for anybody. A loving husband to his wife. He dedicated his life to upbringing of his family’, he emphasized.

The Governor recalled the role his father played towards his election and eventual emergence as the Ogun State Governor, stressing that, the deceased campaigned profusely for him during the electioneering campaign, and would remain grateful to him.

‘We come from a family with humility. We spent three weeks with him in Manchester. I have no doubt he is resting in the bossom of God. My father doesn’t allow my mother to go and baby sits, except they go together’,Abiodun  recalled

Penpushing reports that, Abiodun disclosed that his father, as a pastor after his retirement as a teacher won number of souls for the Lord, adding that his conduct while bringing his children up  worth emulation.

‘My father won many souls as a pastor. We all have our appointed time; we don’t have to be professional to affect lives of people. Let’s take moment of our life and see what people we say about us’, Abiodun added.

‘My father has no iota hatred for anybody. A loving husband to his wife. He dedicated his life to upbringing his family. He campaign towards my election victory. We received his body on Friday night from Manchester, United Kingdom. My father was a gentleman to the core, Details of burial coming soon, we shall communicate with the public on the burial arrangements’, he added

Penpushing reports that, notable sympathizers at the condolence visit include; representatives of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Christians Women Group, Ndigbo Association, Butchers Association and Social Groups of Remoland, as well as Moruph Sorunke of Fresh FM, Musiliu Sanni of Sweeef FM, Engr Opeoluwa Kilaso, Moroof Adegboyega  F,M, Sunday Ogunsola of Family F.M and Abolade Abimbola of Sweet FM .

The founder of Penpushing Media, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji in his remarks while speaking consoled with the Governor, and equally congratulated him for surviving his father who he said died at the ripe age of 89.

Penpushing further reports that, the veteran journalist encouraged the bereaved Governor to emulate the good work of his late father, as he (Governor) always emphasized each time he spoke about the deceased.

‘Your Excellency, let me commiserate with you on the death of your father, and in the same vein, congratulate you for surviving your father who to me by all standard died at a ripe age of 89, and I want to also encourage you to emulate his good work, as you always emphasized each time you spoke about him’.

‘I want to add this, even if  it is not possible for you to emulate him 100% ,I will encourage you to at least emulate him 70% . With what we have been hearing and reading about your late father it was a clear testimony that he lived an exemplary life. I prayed for his soul to continue to rest in perfect peace’
