PROFESSIONAL BODIES HOST OGUN GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATES DEBATE

Others are, Hon. Remmy Hassan, representing the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Bolaji Adeniji, representing the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka.

Penpushing further reports that the Chairman of the Association, Surveyor Tunji Adegunle, in his welcome address, explained that the purpose of the gathering is to know what the candidates have for the people of Ogun State.

“Today, we are gathering today to talk with our political leaders, Nigeria today is facing a lot of political challenges or the other, so that is why we are here to hear from them what they have for us, as we journey into the next political dispensation”

The Yes Candidate while speaking on the party’s  plans for the state, said there is a plan  to involve indigenous people for the construction of roads, and to empower the people towards raising employment of the people.

“We are going to bring back OGROMA, if elected. Also, we are going to introduce  ICT into everything we are doing and into education, there is nothing we will do that won’t involve the use of ICT, so we are going to revive it”

The party flagbearer  added that the Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State would be raised for the purpose of generating enough funds to work within the State, and on education, promised that the administration will motivate the public teachers so that the students will do well in their exams.

“Before, Ogun State used to be among the best, the first three in WAEC examinations across the country but now, we are 19th, imagine the Gateway State, however, when we get into power, we will motivate and inspire our teachers by paying them as at when due, by doing this, our students will do well in their exams. What do we have in private schools that we don’t have in public schools, but when we get there everything will change”

Penpushing also reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate promised to revitalise the three Free Trade Zones (FTZs) in the State in Olokola, Igbesa and Kajola, as to generate enough Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) for the State and make it have high economic growth.

“Ogun State has what it takes to lead Lagos State in terms of economic development, but the potentials we have as a State are not enough and the areas which would bring us into economic prosperity are not attracted. We will also look into our natural resource, which is bitumen and be used to develop the state too, as a form of IGR” ,he said.

The flagbearer of All Progressives Congress(APC), Dapo Abiodun also promised to work on the health care system and to make it work well, adding that children from age 0 to 6 will be treated free.

“We will look into our health care sector, we will revitalise on primary care system which is closest to the people, we don’t need to go to General hospitals to treat malaria, but the structures have been broken down but we will revitalise it when we get there”

Penpushing further reports that, while speaking , on education promised to ensure a vital running cost for State institutions, adding that  priority will be on renovating existing primary schools and not building new ones, “also, the training and re-training of our teachers will be included” he added.

The Action for Democracy (AD) Governorship candidate, on his own blueprint promised that his government will have program for the aged and young ones and he will look into infrastructures, as well as land reformation and renewal system for the good of the people.

He promised to also work on the procurement act and disability law that have been made obsolete, adding that leakages for economic growth and prosperity will be blocked, and the security of lives and properties, and  reiterated his plan to rehabilitate the health care centres in each of the 236 wards and also bring back local government autonomy.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC)  candidate, Gboyega Isiaka   emphasized on the seven steps towards good governance, adding that there will be a good representation of people in his government, stressing, “there will be free education for pupils in primary to secondary schools, also we will revamp the infrastructure to help in impacting knowledge into these students, also the training and re-training of teachers will be incorporated and a teacher for a class,

“On our healthcare, we will do our best to bring in a lot of personnels to that sector, we will look into the various health centres in our various local governments and make sure it is of excellence to the people” he said.

Penpushing further report that Isiaka also promised to revitalise the employment scheme which was put to rest by the past government, with the assurance to revive sports for the purpose of creating employment for the youths.
