Portable arrested again, sheds ‘crocodile’ tears in detention

The controversial lewd musician Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has again been arrested and currently in a detention facility under the Ogun State Police Command, where he was seen shedding crocodile tears

Penpushing reports the reason for the arrest was yet to be made known by the police as at the time of filing this report, but it would be recalled that Portable had in recent time engaged in violent scuffle with one of his wives, as well as family members.

The notorious musician who had been in conflict with police on number of offences, last week took to the social media to lambast his biological father who he described as scammer, who is only interested in his wealth.

Penpushing further reports the Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Seyi Babaseyi confirmed the arrest of Portable, but frowned at the circulated video while in detention and being tortured by some police personnel

The police spokesperson disclosed that the command has ordered an investigation into viral video, particularly X, which shows the handcuffed musician being beaten by some Police personnel at a detention facility in Ogun State.

Penpushing also reports that Babaseyi confirmed that Portable is currently in Police custody but emphasized that the alleged assault captured in the video is unacceptable and not in line with police standards.

‘He was arrested and he is with us, but that is a different issue. What is important is the assault that was happening at the station. We don’t condone it. We don’t condone videoing suspects. We don’t even put suspects’ faces out. No matter who the suspect is, nobody should be treated in such a manner’, he emphasised.

Penpushing reports that he added that the police do not permit the filming or public display of suspects, stressing that such actions endanger both the safety of suspects and the integrity of investigations.

The Command imagemaker disclosed that the command has already commenced an internal investigation into the incident, with assurance that any personnel found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

“The investigation is ongoing, and the officers involved, if found culpable, will be sent to the appropriate authorities. That process has already started,” the police spokesperson said.

Penpushing further reports that it would be recalled that Portable had sometime ago on social media after been declared wanted by the police, said he is a mad person with patient card at Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, which he said can be verify from the authorities

“I fear government. I am a federal government liability. Then I’m a madman; I have medications that I usually take. You can confirm from Aro Hospital. I have a card that certifies me as one of their patients. I am from Abeokuta and they are taking care of me there. I am not a thief, I help people around me without even looking at their background’, he was quoted saying
