Police rescue kidnapped Chinese expatriates in Osun state

The Osun State Police Command has rescued  two Chinese expatriates, Zhao Juan (33), and One Wen,(50) kidnapped at a gold mining site  located in Okepa/Itikan village in Ifewara, Atakumosa-West local government area of the state.

Penpushing reports that, the Public Relations Officer of the command, Yemisi Opalola, made this known on Thursday, but did not disclosed if the N10million ransom demanded by the abductors was paid.

The police spokes person said efforts were ongoing to arrest the alleged kidnappers, adding that the Commissioner of Police, enjoined members of the public to collaborate with the police in fighting crime.

“It is with great delight to inform the members of the public that the above named Chinese Nationals have been rescued at about 9pm yesterday unhurt. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the devil in human clothing’, he said

‘The Commissioner of Police enjoined members of the public to support, co-operate, and collaborate with the Police in fighting crime to bring it down to the barest minimum, by providing us with credible and prompt information as this will always help in forestalling future incidents”, Opalola said

Penpushing also reports that, It is recalled that, two local guards securing the site were shot during a gun duel with the kidnappers, who later demanded for N10million for the Chinese expatriates’ release.
