Police Community Relations Committee rounds up 40th anniversary with inauguration of insurance scheme, lecture on dementia
The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Ogun State Command on Thursday rounded up its 40th anniversary with inauguration of insurance scheme and lecture tagged, ’PCRC @ 40: Her Impacts on Security Architecture of Ogun State.
Penpushing reports that the lecture was delivered by Assistant Inspector General of Police Lanre Bankole(rtd) at the ceremony held at Kayode Egbetokun Police Cooperative Event, Presidential Boulevard, Abeokuta.
The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), which objective is service to the nation and humanity at the closing ceremony of the one-week long anniversary gave awards to some recoginised individuals, as well as investiture of new patrons
Penpushing further reports that part of the activities include Health Talk on Dementia by African Community Engagement Working Group, as well as presentation of General Meeting Activities and Performance Report
The reports contained secretariat report, financial report and state chairman’s report and presentation of area commands, units’ activities, as well as presentation of prizes and awards, and decoration/inauguration of 3rd traffic marshals
Penpushing also reports that the Chairman of the Committee, Ven (Dr) Samson Popoola earlier in his welcome address chronicled the journey and performances of the body within the last four decades of establishment.
The Chairman who took over leadership of the command on June 23, 2020 recalled that his administration mission was repositioning and revamping the committee, which he recalled was at its best ebb due to divisive, ethnic, religious and self-serving parochial politics introduced into running of the organization by some interest groups
‘In our efforts to bring everyone back on course, we embarked on strategic meetings and consultations and deliberate actionable efforts aimed at bringing everybody back into a single indivisible family for which Ogun State PCRC was known for’, he said
‘Four years down the line, it has been catalogued of record-breaking achievements with a solid team of dedicated State Executive members, area, divisional, unit and state appointed members’, Popoola explained
