Police Community Relations Committee appoints Folarin Olayinka Consultant on Human Rights

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has appointed Executive Director Human Rights and Grassroots Development Society (HRGDS), Comrade Folarin Olayinka as Consultant on Human Rights and International Affairs of the body.

Penpushing reports the letter of his appointment was conveyed to him as announced by the National Chairman of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, adding that his choice was based on outstanding pedigree.

The statement made available by Ambassador Comrade Kunle Sodipo, Senior Special Adviser Media and Publicity, office of the National Chairman added that the appointment takes immediate effect, with a conviction that he will add value to the rising profile of PCRC in Nigeria and diaspora with absolute commitment and dedication.

Penpushing reports that Olayinka in his response said he was honoured to accept the appointment, with assurance that he would bring his expertise and experience to advance the cause of humanity through the organization.

‘I am honored to accept my appointment as Consultant on Human Rights and International Affairs to the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) National. I am thrilled to bring my expertise and experience to advance the cause of humanity through this esteemed platform’, he said.

‘I am committed to promoting a culture of human rights and fostering a working partnership that is mutually beneficial to all stakeholders. My expertise aligns with the principles outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which emphasizes the interdependence of all human rights, including civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights’, he wrote.

‘I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the National leadership of PCRC for this appointment. I salute your leadership and vision, and I look forward to working closely with you and the PCRC team to promote human rights and community relations’, Olayinka added.

‘I am confident that my over two decades of experience as a human rights advocate, certified arbitrator, and trainer will enable me to make valuable contributions to the PCRC and by extension the Nigeria Police Force’, he stated.

Penpushing further reports that the appointee is the National Vice President of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) and Executive Director of Human Rights and Grassroots Development Society (HRGDS), an organization with the United Nations Special Consultative (ECOSOC) Status, a member Ogun State Public Interest Law Partnership (OPILP).

The human right activist it would be recalled have equally served on the Ogun State Judicial Panel on Police Brutalities and Human Rights Violations by Security Agencies (ENDSARS) Panel, as well as a member of the Federal Government Special Public Works Committee (SPW) for Ogun State.
