Police brutality protest: Security agents open fire on Lagos protesters
Barely few hours after Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced a 24-hour curfew, security forces have allegedly opened fire on protesters at the Lekki toll gate, killing and injuring an unspecified number of people
Penpushing reports that multiple witnesses at the scene,as night fell, operatives raided the location, shooting live rounds indiscriminately, adding that some of the attackers were soldiers, but this could not be ascertain as at the time of filing this report
The sources said the security operatives have turned off toll gates lights before embarking on sporadic shooting said to claimed number of the protesters, established to be protesting police brutality on Nigerians
Penpushing further reports that videos recorded in the homes of some residents showed the area is dark as the toll gates lights have been turned off, and gun shots were clearly heard as number of victims were also heard crying out loud for help.
There was panic on social media after photos emerged of unknown men removing CCTV cameras at the Lekki toll gate, but as at the time of filing this report, Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi could not be reach for comment
