Police brutality protest: Lanre Banjo rain curses on killers of Nigerian youths

The former Governorship candidate in Ogun State, Ogbeni Lanre Banjo has condemned the alleged military killing of some Nigerian youths on Tuesday in Lekki area of Lagos State, describing the operations as heartless and rained curses on those behind the act and actions

Penpushing reports that, Banjo in a statement noted that the youths in responding to President Muhammadu Buhari’s accusation that they are lazy, embarked on a peaceful protest for better life for all.

‘The inhuman manner, in which the operation was carried out across the nation, reflected a guerilla war against the hope and leaders of tomorrow. Disconnecting the CCTV and cutting off electricity in Lekki Toll gate to sniff out life of our youth is heartless’, stated.

Penpushing further reports the fearless politician posited that, sponsoring thugs by government to disrupt protest to lay ground for the attack of protesters dwarf our status in the committee of nations, adding that the children of those who carried out the order shall not know peace and shall enjoy the same fate unless and unless if the change these youth are fighting for would not be enjoyed by them and their children.

‘The excruciating pains and pangs of the mothers on the days and the hours those killed by these soldiers were born shall torture them and they shall die miserably. As for those who gave the orders, the Lord of revenge shall take His revenge’.

‘I have disagreed with Nnamdi Kanu that the person in Aso Rock is not General Buhari, because I have been opportuned to spend time with Mr. Buhari.  I know his look and the way he talks. With this atrocity and his pen-drop silence, I doubt if the head of Government in Abuja is a fellow Nigerian and has blood in his vein’, Banjo stated.

‘I doubt if Buhari has been present in the labor room to witness the unendurable pain Aisha Buhari and his late wife suffered to deliver the fruit of the womb.  Buhari is wicked and has murdered sleep. He has committed crime against humanity, against the will of God and I am waiting to see his end’.

‘As usual, he has remained silent since the protest, and I really wonder why the Senate has to ask him to address Nigerians if he has something upstairs. Like my father, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe uttered, those who support this dastard act would die unsung’.

‘Having witnessed good governance in Nigeria in the 60s especially in the South western part of Nigeria under the premiership of Pa Obafemi Awolowo of blessed memory, and having participated in elections in Nigeria, I had lost hope in our youth before this protest’.

‘These youth rekindled my hope.  I supported wholeheartedly the reason for the protest and the stratagem employed to drive home their points.  For a long time, SARS have been sapping blood of many Nigerians dry from their bodies’.

‘For a long time, Nigerian police and soldiers, who could not fight Boko Haram, have been harassing the citizens they were paid to protect. It was Chief M. K. O. Abiola who said you cannot train your dog how to bite you.  Nigerian Security officers appeared to have been trained to maim and kill those who paid their salaries’.

‘The outcry of the wicked acts of the security personnel has fallen into the deaf ears of the vagabond in power before this protest.  There has been a public distressful cry to restructure the country so that not everything that is wrong would be blamed on any Lilliputian and hollow heads heading government in Abuja’.

‘The goon in Aso Rock and many of the unpatriotic elements in the National Assembly, who are economic slaves to their positions, thought they own Nigeria and they can do whatever they want regardless of how the majority feel’.

‘Those youth were left with no choice but to take to the street to bring the attention of the world to the misgovernance, police brutality, alarming corruption etc. in the expired nation called Nigeria and General Buhari considered it right to respond by killing them’.

‘The 36 governors are setting up panels to pay the families of those killed by Special Anti-Robbery Squad(SARS), while that has not been concluded, Buhari soldiers and police have killed many more, is this what we would be spending our time and resources on?’

‘The incompetent Inspector General of Police and the General that appointed him demonstrated horrible lack of foresight and leadership. What prompted the protest was police brutality; the response was police and soldier’s brutality’.

‘Changing the name of SARS to Special Weapon Tactical Team (SWAT) makes absolutely no sense when the mindset of the rulers and their agents is still satanic. The IG proclaimed that the SWAT personnel would be trained to sensibly deal with Nigerians, here they are, the police and soldiers are not demonstrating what the SWAT would be trained to do’.

Penpushing also reports Banjo sent his condolences to the families of the deceased, adding that, ‘while many of us in the struggle do not wish the assassination of Nigerians, we should take solace in the fact that the deceased are heroes and heroines who paid the supreme prices for the freedom of their fellow citizens’.

‘As documented in the Bible, the misbehavior of human being was the basis for God to direct Noah to keep the animals he loved and God angrily wiped out the earth with water.  For the Israelites to leave Egypt many people died both at home and in the Red Sea. Our youth must not give up and I pray it would not get to the point where citizens would defend themselves by all means necessary.
