Police arrests two motorists for allegedly attacking road traffic officials
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Lious Nwodi and Ismaila Salisu, for allegedly assaulting two officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASMA),at Surulere area of the State.
Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi in a statement said the two officials, Ganiyu Ajose and Adeyemi Lanre were beaten by the suspects after violating the traffic rules
The police spokesperson,said the incident happened at Ogunlana Street, Surulere, adding that the suspects had disobeyed hand signals at the point and sped off, but later forced to stop when their vehicle had punctured tyre, and accosted by the officials
“The duo had disobeyed hand signals at the point and sped off but were forced to a halt when their Highlander SUV with Reg. NO AAA 450 DD had a punctured tyre. They were accosted by the officials but the duo beat up the LASTMA Officials,” the police said.
Penpushing further reports that, Adejobi in a statement said the suspects have been arraigned before a Magistrate’s Court in Surulere for conspiracy, assault on public servants, and malicious damage.
