Police arrest woman who faked own kidnap for N4.8million ransom
A woman, identified as Blessing Ogunu, a staff of Bliss Legacy Limited in Benin City. who allegedly faked her kidnap for N4.8 million has been arrested by the Edo State Police Command alongside three other suspects.
Penpushing reports that the Edo State Police Command Public Relations Officer Chidi Nwabuzor made this known in a statement, adding that the suspect confessed to having faked her own kidnap because her company refused to allocate land to a customer whom they had collected money from
The police spokesperson who is a superintendent of police in a statement posted on X explained that the arrest was executed through technical intelligence and gave identities of other suspects as include Esther Anthony and Ukpebor Joel.
‘During interrogation, Blessing Ogunu confessed that she masterminded the whole process of herself being kidnapped because her company refused to allocate land to a customer whom they had collected money from. The suspects will soon be charged to court’, Nwabuzor said.
